Football is a sport that has been on the focus of many people in the past years. People should not be confused with American Football and soccer. Two teams each with 11 players compete in the American Football. The goal in the sport is to have the pigskin, the ball used, carried or thrown to the goal posts to score. The popularity of sport has produced many teams both in the high schools and colleges as well as private teams as well. The National Football League is the more known league for American football. The Miami Dolphins is one of the more popular team in the league. The Miami Dolphins is a team from Miami Florida and was the first professional franchise in the state. The ideal location of the city as well as the booming population and economy made the city the ideal location for the team.
The team has made their mark early in the game. They won their very first Super Bowl championship in 1972. This is followed immediately by their second win in 1973. The 70's was the golden era for the Dolphins. Each Dolphins ticket holders were treated to great games that decade. The team have been part of the playoff's for most of the decade and followed by other 15 playoff's appearances. Three Conference Championships and five Division Championships were won by the team in that decade alone.
The performance of the team these past years has been nothing but improving. The sales the Dolphin tickets have been experiencing are a proof of the desire of the masses to catch the team in action. The team is preparing to make the much awaited comeback to relieve the golden days in the early years of the team
The home of the team is in the Sun Life Stadium located in the Miami Gardens. The location of the stadium is easily accessible to the fans that eagerly wait in line to get their hands on the tickets to the games of the team. The team has had their fair share of mascots in the past. T. D. is the official mascot of the team. Denny Sym was a symbol for the team as well. This man armed with his glittering orange and aqua hat lead the crowd to cheer for the team. His last performance for the team was in 2000. Another notable mascot for the team was Flipper. Flipper was a live dolphin that was kept in the stadium for two years before being removed to save on costs.
The team have proven themselves to be a contender on the field as well as a team that is easily loved by t he public. The team would continue to be patronized and supported by their fans for the years to come.
